Now this, was perfect. Loved the public's perceived perception of their love lives v.s. how it really was.

You made a great point when Ken said, "I didn't get this job by being a poor judge of character, or by not understanding psychology." I can definitely see where that would come into play. I have a hard time believing Ken is really *that* oblivious when it comes to women, so your explanation about his thoughts on the matter, is a believable one.

Always knew Joe would be the one to fall hard for a women he liked. It just fits--just as his reaction to a breakup fits too. :)

Really enjoyed reading this! :)

I love the BotP version of this episode - never seen the Gatch.  However, it's clear in both that the Swan has some serious competition in this girl.

Author's Response: Well, not really. Not long-term anyway. Check out the Gatchaman version of the episode - it's a treat!

Your take on the whole 'pblicity department' issue is interesting. It really does make you think how much work the ISO put into keeping their identities secret. Now if only their civvies/uniform designers could figure out that thr number t-shirts REALLY aren't a good idea... ;-)

Author's Response: Yeah, I'm not confident I can come up with a convincing reason for the numbered t-shirts and monotonous wardrobe. Thanks for the compliments!

This was a nice short piece about a subject we've all thought about concerning the Eagle. I like the created hobbies. Geez, Jinpei with a violin? Where's one of those shuriken?!?

Interesting how you had Jun seeing other guys from time to time, but no inclination of jealosy from Ken when he observes it. With Koji, we know she's dated (or seen) other guys. And Ken does seem rather oblivious at times, so that's no huge surprise in an outward way. But you do have to wonder what is going on inside.

Which is what makes this fanfic so fun, since it's first-person from Ken. :)

It looks like some of the formatting here might have been messed up when you uploaded it. There are stray exclamation points here and there, and spare spaces.

Example: Rumi Boronbo, th! e girl in question, had been held hostage by Gallactor in order to ran som highly

The last part, should that have been "... in order to run some highly..."?

If I ever get the ADV DVD's I'm going to have to watch this episode again, expecially at the end. I think I've only seen the BotP version. From the sound of this, the ending is slightly different. It would be fun to compare. :)

Author's Response:

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the heads-up! I thought I caught all those pesky errors in the text. I'll fix those pronto.

I hadn't really considered having Ken express what he thought about Koji. I get the impression that Jun didn't publicize her dates, but Ken knows about them anyway and prefers to keep his cards close to his chest. :-)

Oh, this was really good...I love the way you explain the reasons why the team can't get involved in relationships...great details! Bringing up Rumi Boronbo was genius! And Ken would definitely be on guard for cape-chasers and spies.

I hope to see more in the "Publicity" series!

Author's Response: Thanks! :-) There are two more in the "Publicity" series so far. Joe's version should be up, and there'll be a version with Jun as soon as it runs in Bird Scramble.
