This was so sweet! I love the fact that they do get together...but it just doesn't happen as easily as we expected it to. Bravo!

I have loved this story for a few years now, but always kept forgetting to review it
It's poignant and yet funny and romantic all at the same time.
And even better - 100% plausible given the characters involved.
Author's Response: Many thanks. I enjoyed writing it.

It's interesting the different takes in sequels to how the relationship between the G-1 and G-3 end. I can see how Mark's tendency to be shy around the opposite sex could get him in hot water with Princess, especially after the war has ended and she might have expectations on the direction they should head. The accident was a good way to bring it all to a head, having a turning-point in the relationship. A nice part was the comparison that only with this were they treated like heroes. It's true that for most of what they did, they were unsung heroes. One Nitpick that has bothered me in the days since I read this: "The boys had never told her about some of the ... side-effects ... of the implants."
If she's been married, this part doesn't make sense. She's had sex before. She would know what the side-effects were. And if you were referring to the side-effects of 2 people who both had the implants making love to each other, then how would the boys know, unless they had gotten together? ;D So, I'm really not sure what you were trying to say with this within the context of this particular fanfic.
Nice ending with Mark reflecting the dream had a different ending. :)
Thanks for the good read! :)
Author's Response: Glad you liked it. Still one of my favourites, too. Thank Dei for the idea of having an accident; the first draft didn't. I do like the way it brings all their different roles together, and it shows that they have changed -- I can't imagine Princess forgetting CPR in the old days. It's also a concrete bridge between their old relationship as teammates and their new one as civilians; the what they learned back then is still useful, even though the war is over. So, yeah, the accident was good.rnrnThe "side-effects" was more an attempt at a laugh than anything else. Vague thoughts that the male version had side-effects the female one didn't. You're right, the boys may not even have told each other about them. But, yeah, I wonder if I'd include that line if I wrote it now; then again, I'm not writing at all at the moment, so it's hard to tell.rnrnThanks again!rnSandy
