Anonymous Rating of Fan Art

I've noticed that there are a lot more ratings on fan art than comments. I have been guilty of this myself at times, because I've run out of time when looking at the gorgeous pics we have on this site! But I only discovered recently that these ratings were anonymous. I thought the artists could see who had rated their pictures! In fact, I'm feeling a little guilty, because I thought the artists knew that I had seen and appreciated their work, and now I know that they have not, unless i have left a comment as well.

It seems odd that the names of the raters aren't attached. In the fan fic section, a fic can only be rated if a review is left, and this is accompanied by the name of the reviewer. Shouldn't we hold the fan art site to the same standard?

I have often thought that too. We would be all up in arms if someone went in rated stories as zero without someone taking ownership of those rating yet no much is said when it comes to fan art. I'd have to see the artists stop putting their work up on this site because of the zero ratings. Is there anyway it can be changed that a person's pen name is put along side the rating even if they don't leave a comment?
